Spot on essay. I find again and again that the materialist "scientific rational" believers really don't believe in truth or evidence. A couple of my favorite examples are to talk about the flood, how it's a universal myth in human cultures that never had contact with each other and has lots of evidence to support it (Walt Brown's work is amazing but hard to find). Another is the fact that DNA and intact cells have been found in dinosaur bones, which is impossible if they were 60+ million years old, meaning they were around a lot more recently. Then there's the inherent problems with carbon dating but they can't hear any of that, it's against their religion which is coded as "rational" in their minds. It's amazing what psycholinguistic warfare has done, making these terms like "rational, scientific, reason, facts" into a specific dogmatic set of beliefs rather than the concepts they are supposed to stand for. It's an unnerving experience like being in the matrix when you realize how different your thinking is from those around you, all using the same words but without understanding.
