I was so happy to hear you all are listening to Chuck Baldwin and sharing his teachings! Liberty Fellowship is my long distance church. My husband and I drove 7 hours each way to get baptized by Pastor Baldwin on October 29th.
That’s quite the drive, but definitely worth it! I’ve only recently learned about Dr. Baldwin but it’s been extremely edifying. His Israel package of sermons is a must listen.
Agreed! I just discovered Chuck Baldwin at the beginning of this year thanks to a friend's recommendation and have been listening to him every Sunday since, as well as listening to all of the Israel packages and his Prophecy packages, which are equally good - what an enormous relief it has been to learn that most of the book of Revelation's prophecies were already fulfilled in 70AD.
And now the friend who recommended Pastor Baldwin to us listened to this episode of you on Firmamental when my husband insisted that he listen to it, and liked it enough to ask for more links to your work.
After doing a few hundred hours of research into his doctrines and life, I am definitely not a fan of Scofield, to put it mildly.
The Incredible Scofield and His Book is a shocking but necessary look into the many half-truths and outright lies that Scofield peddled, even during his days as a pastor. Stuff like inventing degrees and honors out of thin air, as well as misrepresenting his military service. It is a very thorough book with meticulous citations and a plethora of source documents. The Seventy Weeks and the Great Tribulation by Philip Mauro is a thorough refutation of some of Scofield's central theses by a former dispensationalist.
This article by one of my favorite Substack authors is a good summation of some of the most glaring issues with Scofield's doctrine:
Thanks so much! I agree about Scofield. I grew up believing the stuff about dispensationalism and the rapture. Believing in the rapture is so damaging. It makes you not care about the future, the earth and all our problems. "Don't worry because you will not be here, you will escape the hard days coming." My parents still believe it and that is why they suffer in their old age, not planning for it, because they never thought they'd still be here. The deception in religion, education, medicine, etc., blows my mind and makes me angry if I dwell on it too much. In my opinion the ONLY good that has come out of the Covid debacle is that many of us woke up to the lies we have been fed all our lives. I feel like a kindergartner going back to school. Thirsty for what is true and hungry for real knowledge, drawing closer to God and my bible. The bible is the truth and I appreciate it so much more now. I have recently found your podcast too and it's a great! I'm thankful for you and the boys and all you do! Keep up the good fight!

Hello! I'm new here. Are you a fan of Scofield, or do these books you recommend condemn his ideas?
Greetings!

I certainly know what you mean, the level of deception at work here is astounding.
Thank you and God bless!
