People have been selling their autonomy for the convenience of not having to take personal responsibility, for the convenience of being provided with cheap essentials and a telescreen, so they don't have to be troubled with thinking. The convenience of insurance through pension funds and social security slowly stripping their will.
The convenience of being told what to buy, what is desirable etc etc etc.
