I'm glad you're tackling Eschatology as that is an extremely important topic. I agree that 70 AD fulfilled the judgement on that "Wicked Generation". Derek Prince has a great sermon concerning that event (transcript and video here https://www.derekprince.com/sermons/312). It also discusses Vespasian's siege of Jerusalem (warned about in Luke 21) and the need to flee when Vespasian temporarily lifted the siege and the armies withdrew.
I noticed that Foxe's Book of Martyrs, Ch. 1 says that John, The "Beloved Disciple" was banished to the Isle of Patmos by Domitian, where he wrote the Book of Revelation. Nerva, the successor of Domitian, recalled him. Domitian is said by Wikipedia to have been Roman emperor from 81 to 96 and Nerva from 96 to 98. If that is to be believed, then it seems Revelation was written well after 70 AD which would be an important date to note.
Thanks brother I’ll give that a listen, you don’t find too many solid sermons on this topic nowadays.
I see the dearth of commentary in Revelation about this monumental event as one of the many reasons why the early dating makes more sense. The Second Temple has been destroyed for +20 years, fulfilling a host of Old and New Testament prophecies, and it doesn’t even get one sentence?
Revelation 11:8 is a key verse to me, as the word usage here implies that Jerusalem is in existence at the time of the writing of the Revelation, an impossibility obviously if it was written later:
“And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.”
Likewise, the existence of the Temple is taken as a given in Revelation, yet its rebuilding is never mentioned, merely assumed.
I recommend this book on the dating of the NT, it’s written by a Textual Critic but the book relies upon Scripture to date itself. Despite my disagreements with his precise hermeneutical approach, the book makes a compelling argument for an early dating: https://libgen.is/book/index.php?md5=FC75257F036BFBD92440908E99DD11A0
Thanks for your views on the Bible. Myself I align with Emmet Fox that the New Testament was written in parables. His interpretation of the Lords Prayer and the Beatitudes are stellar. For example the first line of the Lords Prayer says so much. Jesus said “Our Father” he didn’t say my father.
Anyway we really don’t understand time except in a rudimentary fashion of 24 hours is one rotation of the earth. It is mathematically possible that we traveling at the speed of light time stops. So for us mortals we really can’t predict or speculate on “end times”,
I believe God is Life, Love and Truth for eternity. Pray and keep a conscious contact with God and you will be amazed at the results. Remember prayers come from the heart and aren’t parroted with no contemplation.
This is stellar material that is presented within a superb delivery. Scipio, are you familiar with Johnny CIrucci? He's written five books, four on Rome and the Vatican and the Jesuits, and one on the Culture of RA, which is a book on medicine and medical treatments. Johnny is a born-again believer, has a slightly 7th Day Adventist perspective on eschatology. I'd like to hook the two of you up. He was up to about 10,000 subs on youtube before they banned him. His home base is Odysee, as in Homer (or the 3600 Bards who they claim are Homer).
Great and accurate presentation of 70A.D. by Scipio & Chuck Baldwin (Prophecy message #7 hyperlinked below by a commentor). A few other things for your consideration:
1/ John references the contemporary emperor (king) in Rev 17:10 "There are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, and the other has not yet come..." The kings by dates of rulership is given and support for a pre-70A.D. writing of the Book of revelation is given in this book:
Before Jerusalem Fell by Kenneth L. Gentry, Jr pages 146-170.
(use the slide bar to go to the book pages I have provided);
2/Other very good books to have;
The Destruction of Jerusalem, by George Peter Holford, 1805 (Amazon.com) and the
Works of Josephus, complete & unabridged, (used also found on Amazon).
My eyes were opened by listening to Chuck Baldwin's many outstanding prophecy messages and sermons against Dispensationalist Futurism and the neferious origins brought to the Christian church by wolves Paul the apostile warned against. After much study in the Word and prayer, the Lord delivered my wife & me from going further down this dead end street.
I’ve been born again for close to 2 years now, (not very long), and I’ve been listening to Chuck Baldwin for over a year. Before that I attended my local church in Idaho for a couple of months before I figured out that what they teach must be an error because of their stance on the state of Israel. Now I know that they were and are teaching dispensational futurism. I’m glad that you are listening to Chuck Baldwin also. I have yet to find a pastor like him.
When I hear the old trope about how we are to bless the “jews”, I think about how someone forgot to remind Yeshua, John the Baptist and Stephen and others about that. It’s no wonder that jews want the New Testament as antisemitic. As I’ve said before, from the time Yeshua stood in the temple and read from Isaiah “ the spirit of the Lord is upon me...” and declared that he was the fulfillment of that prophecy, the Judaics and the Pharisees set their face against Him and resist Him still to this day. When Yeshua declared that the spirit of antichrist was already in the world, I believe He spoke of those who had, and are still, warring against Him now. If they hated me, they will hate you. And, such has been the history of Christendom since.
And to those who invoke the promise to Abraham, the blessing part is bracketed between (before and after) Yahwehs call for Israel to be a blessing to the nations. Those people occupying Palestine today are anything but a blessing.
Indeed, invoking the Abrahamic Covenant is even more absurd when Galatians 3:16 explicitly states that the seed to which those promises were made is Christ.
Wonderful post. I am going to order the book you recommended, but the author's name may have been noted incorrectly-it took me a bit to find it but mission accomplished. The author of the book 70 Weeks is Philip Mauro, not under Morrow. Anyway, I found it! Will be listening to the Baldwin sermon later today-thanks again.
Glad you could find it, the original essays always include hyperlinks to the books I'm referencing in the show so that's an easy way to find them as well.

On problems with translation, was it you who mentioned that the "pale horse" in Revelations was actually pale green (Latin "chlorus") and may well symbolize the current environment movement? I also learnt that trying to thread a camel through eye of needle is actually referring to camel hair rope. Interesting analogy you mentioned between locusts and helicopters. Also what is your opinion of late Dr Zelenko? I believe he was orthodox - so if that means following teachings of talmud, I'm perplexed he wanted to save the gentiles. He seemed to be a good man all the same. Finally, thanks for the shout-out. I subscribed after reading your article on graphene. Speaking of which: do you know whether there is any mention of graphene in the Bible or a word that could be interpreted as meaning graphene?
Nice talk today Scipio. This interesting doc about the writing of the bible and the first century and Roman politics and conflict came across my desk thru substack someplace in recent months. Just the first 2 pages are riveting-but I have no way to prove what is true. Do you know about this story?
Yeah Frances Leader had this linked a few months ago and I looked into it. The first page kind of gives the game away here:
“Secondly, still today other "Christian" groups continue to manipulate their readers and listeners by preaching hatred toward Jews. Some attack Jews by attacking the State of Israel. They claim the Holocaust was a lie created by Jews to justify Israel. They continuously present the account of the 1967 wartime attack on the USS Liberty, with their cry of Jewish "conspiracy." Other groups claim that they, white Christian Americans, are somehow descended from the Northern Ten Tribes who were carried off by Assyria in 720 B.C.; and that they, and not Jews, are modern-day Israel; and that Jews are Satanic rejecters of Christ and have no right to exist. All this is done in the name of Christ (while the money continues pouring in)!
This hatred toward Jews seems reasonable to many only because 1900 years of stereotyping Jews has Conditioned Popular thinking to its acceptance. The hatred was deliberately created by the authors of the New Testament, as this booklet shows.“
The pamphlet is trying to destroy Christianity to blunt alleged anti-semitism - which immediately put my antenna up, obviously lol.
The Piso family was a real Roman family, but the rest of these claims are all unverifiable conjecture and outright fabrications that conflict with the historical record. It’s a crafty distortion of history designed to appeal to the doubters.
All the repetitions of these claims I found online refer back to this material as the source, the Abelard Reuchlin Foundation.
Simply put, there is way more evidence for the existence of Christ than there is for Arius Calpurnius Piso 😂
No worries friend, I did that painful research months ago lol
I’ve done a fair amount of scholarly research on the origins of Christianity, so I was genuinely curious about this pamphlet since I hadn’t heard about this particular conspiracy before a few months back.
I think you are so deceived on almost ALL of what you said and there are many great people that explain it and Dustin Nemos website is the absolute BEST and if you use the search you can find TONS on everything and he 1000% backs EVERYTHING UP BIBLICALLY with scripture and also with the writings from the hundreds of other biblical sources from around the world in the original language they were written in from wayyyyyyyy back which proves not only all the things you’re are questioning about Jews and Israel etc but also the entire view this article is about and totally debunks all the theories about the 70AD and 95ad preterist garbage which is to only lead people ASTRAY IN END TIMES, on that subject he has 2 HUGE articles with all the proof linked and sources. About the Jew stuff there are tons and tons and tons and tons also with all 100% verified backed up linked proof and the sources. Everyone should check all this stuff out because BOTH ARE SO IMPORTANT TO THE HOUR WE ARE IN www.theserapeum.com
Thanks for your thoughts on this matter. I’m familiar with Dustin Nemos’ work and I have major disagreements with his racialist interpretations of the eschaton.
Now according both John and Paul, we have been in the last days for two thousand years:
1 John 2:18
“Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.”
Hebrews 1:2
“Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;”
Just to jolt your memory: It was posted here https://francesleader.substack.com/p/the-true-authorship-of-the-new-testament on 2 Dec last; you made several comments, incl. great find, makes total sense, you don't take bible seriously because written for political reasons, you've been telling this to people for decades and people who disagree with you are like those who believe in imaginary viruses.
Yes, I now recall that comment reread it and stand by it. I still respect Scipio's knowledge and opinion and am open to listen to him. If you don't like my comment that is your free choice. Since you have harassed Christiene and myself (on Graphene) on my ss-just to jolt your memory on those- and you are verging on harassing me now, please respect I do not wish to continue any discussion with you.
Yeah, I bet you don't! As you know, I harassed no-one. Christine Massey harassed ME, a paid subscriber to her SS and ardent supporter, for days on end because I dared to criticize Stefan Scoglio & Eric Coppolino's claim that "graphene" does not exist, there's no nanotech in the jabs and the microscopy guys are all fraudsters. Preterism - The 70AD Return of Christ Deception Debunked With Guest: Author Samuel Frost
Sam Frost, the man you mention in your comment, was a hyper or full preterist, something which I agree is patently heretical.
I am not a preterist and was entirely removed from this intellectual tradition when I came to the beliefs I now hold: it was the Bible that led me to this belief, not any modern teachers. I do not believe that all prophecy has been fulfilled, that the New Heaven and New Earth are present, or that Christ’s final advent was in 70 AD. For that reason in an intellectual discussion, I find the term preterism largely meaningless since every Christian thinks some prophecy has come to pass already, we are just debating the degree of fulfillment.
I read the articles you posted (Nemos seems to be copying the second one) and personally didn’t find these arguments compelling. Much of the thrust of the Futurist position relies on its adherence by a few notable early Church fathers, Justin Martyr and Iraneaus. Of the 6 points brought against preterism by these authors, only one deals with Matthew 24 at all. The interscriptural evidence for futurism is cited in the affirmative by these authors, yet their tangible proof of such is entirely lacking. For me, the ultimate decider of orthodoxy is not man’s traditions but the Bible, so I don’t really find weight in what Justin Martyr or Polycarp thought on the eschaton.
I leave it up to the readers to determine whether they think these arguments cited above “FULLY BLOW IT OUT OF THE WATER DEBUNKING IT WITH LEGIT SOURCES”.
Truly Superb Scipio !
