The bread and circuses roll on, folks — pardons for the elites and AI dystopias dressed up as "progress.”
The Corpse President’s parting gift to his loyal henchmen comes in the form of pre-emptive pardons (a novel usage of this plenary power), ensuring they never face consequences for their crimes. Meanwhile, Trump tosses a bone to his base with J6 and other pardons he could’ve issued four years ago. It’s a classic distraction tactic, and yet devastatingly effective: give the people a win just big enough to shut them up while the true agenda churns full steam ahead.
Speaking of that agenda, Trump announced "Project Stargate," a $500 billion AI boondoggle cooked up with OpenAI, Oracle, and Softbank. They promise jobs and innovation, but let’s not kid ourselves — this is about continuing to build the infrastructure for a biomedical surveillance state. Oracle’s CEO even touted AI-driven mRNA cancer vaccines as part of this brave new world. Not to be outdone, Bill Gates is hyping an Operation Warp Speed sequel for an HIV vaccine. And amidst it all, Anduril’s Ohio factory plans to churn out autonomous weapons by the tens of thousands. It’s all heading in one direction, and it’s not freedom.
If the first week of Trump’s second term are anything to go by, it’s going to be a long four years.
