From The Vault: Lincoln vs. The Constitution by Thomas DiLorenzo

The birth of the American empire...

First Aired: June 5th-9th, 2006.

Thomas DiLorenzo is an economist & historian who currently serves as the president of the Mises Institute. In addition to holding a Ph.D. in Economics from Virginia Tech, he is the author of numerous books, including The Real Lincoln. In this lecture, Mr. DiLorenzo delivers a hard-hitting critique of Abraham Lincoln, exposing the constitutional violations and power grabs that reshaped the American republic into the American empire. From suspending habeas corpus to crushing states' rights, DiLorenzo convincingly argues that Lincoln’s actions set dangerous precedents for the limits on federal power.
